Jacqueline Senecal became principal at St. John Neumann School in Rochester on Jan. 1, replacing Marie Arcuri, who had led the elementary school since 2005.

Senecal previously had served since 2001 as a Spanish teacher in the Wayne Central School District, where she also chaired the district's Spanish department. She also served as coordinator of the district's International Baccalaureate Program and served as assistant principal during summer-school sessions.

Senecal earned her bachelor of arts degree in modern languages from SUNY Buffalo and her master of arts degree in secondary education from Nazareth College in Pittsford.
