To the editor:
As I write, local headlines read 10 more Americans are killed in Iraq. Consider the grief of over 3,200 parents, spouses, siblings, children, and others, not to mention the waste of precious life! Only the threat of liberties and freedom would justify this horror. But look for justification for this war, and we find none; look for reasons why President Bush invaded, and we see lies and deception; look at where those dying on the battlefield come from, and we see mostly poverty; look at who is clamoring to keep this war going, and we see not “a plan for victory,” but only a last ditch effort to salvage a right wing political legacy at the expense of American blood and treasure.
It is time for all Americans of every political stripe to come together and demand this war be ended.
