Mike D’Aloisio, longtime varsity football and basketball coach at Elmira Notre Dame High School, was among 13 people inducted into the Section 4 Hall of Fame on March 3.
As the Crusaders’ football coach, D’Aloisio topped the 200-win mark in the fall of 2011 and has a current career record of 202-79. His teams have won 15 division championships and four Section 4 titles, with the 1998 Notre Dame squad reaching the state final. In basketball, D’Aloisio coached for 20 years and earned 258 victories with three sectional titles.
Also being selected for the Section 4 Hall of Fame was Bill Limoncelli, a 1961 Notre Dame graduate. He was the varsity basketball coach at Elmira Free Academy and Elmira Southside, racking up 350 career wins. In addition, Limoncelli coached and managed the Elmira Pioneers baseball team. Both he and D’Aloisio are members of Notre Dame’s Hall of Fame.
