Nurse to share story of healing

Rochester resident Linda Petote Martin will be the keynote speaker at the next Magnificat Rochester breakfast, which will be held April 23 at the Diplomat Banquet Center, located at 1 Diplomat Way off Lyell Road in Gates.

A lay Carmelite and mother of four children, Martin credits her prayers to the Blessed Mother for bringing about her unexplained healing from a rare and incurable heart and lung disease. Martin is a registered pediatric nurse, and she and her husband, Dr. Michael Martin, own and operate Gladbrook Roman Catholic Pediatrics.

Seating for the breakfast will begin at 8:45 a.m., and the program will run from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Confessions will be heard at 8 a.m. and again at noon.

Tickets may be purchased for $18 before April 16 and $20 after that date. Students may purchase tickets for $10, and clergy and religious will be admitted for free. No tickets will be sold at the door, and reservations must be made in advance. For more information visit, call Kathy Murty at 585-436-1284 or send an e-mail to
