Officials: The future is bright at Catholic schools

As summer begins to wind down, we already are experiencing great joy and excitement that school year 2009-10 will begin in but a few weeks! We hope you enjoy these pages of the Courier and the many stories about Catholic schools. We thank the newspaper’s staff for their coverage of all the good that is happening!

We want especially to thank our teachers, principals, support staff and Catholic Schools Office personnel who are spending many, many hours preparing each and every classroom and school for your children. We intend that every single child in our care will flourish in the safe, faith-filled, spirit-rich and academically excellent environment for which Catholic schools are famous. We will do everything we can to make sure that happens. Each child is a gift and is important to us.

Even as we look forward to this school year and celebrate the long tradition of Catholic education that goes back to the 19th century, we also want to welcome families brand new to our schools or considering a Catholic education for their children. We think the future is bright. We invite you to find out more about diocesan Catholic schools at www.dorschools.org.

We ask that each of you do all you can to spread the good news about the value and quality of a Catholic education. Help us to continue to grow as we work together to make the Catholic schools of the Diocese of Rochester a model for educational excellence with a foundation in Catholic beliefs and values.

Thank you so very much for your ever-present support, volunteerism and prayers.
