Bishop Salvatore R. Matano was joined by priests from across the diocese March 22 at Sacred Heart Cathedral to celebrate the Solemn Mass of Chrism. Bishop Matano blessed the sacred oils — the Oil of the Catechumens, the Oil of the Sick and the Holy Chrism — to be used at diocesan parishes throughout the year. During Mass, a team of Cathedral Community volunteers worked in the basement of the church to prepare containers of oil for each parish in the diocese.
