Several years ago I stopped using herbicides and synthetic fertilizers on my property after I learned about the hazards of these lawn chemicals. The November issue of the Courier includes a letter calling upon the diocese to stop using such chemicals at Catholic schools. I agree.
The Internet, particularly www.beyondpesticides.org, provides a lot of environmentally safe lawn-care advice.
