DeSales High School, 90 Pulteney St., Geneva, will host the annual Oratorical Contest for students in Finger Lakes-area Catholic elementary schools May 4 at 7 p.m.
Students competing in this year’s contest will answer the question “How has Catholic education nurtured my belief in God and helped me develop a commitment to God, the church and the world?” The theme question was chosen by St. Mary’s School in Canandaigua.
Separate contests for fifth- and sixth-grade students and for seventh- and eighth-grade students will be held simultaneously. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the competition. The event is free and open to the public.
