Can you believe we are almost two weeks into Lent? How are you doing with your Lenten sacrifices? Have you been tempted to eat a sweet, or have you not been spending as much time in prayer as you would like to?
Well, if you are looking for something to do each day to help you during these 40-plus days, I encourage you to visit the Courier‘s Lenten calendar, “Journey to Easter.” It is similar to our Advent calendar of last year. Our online Lenten calendar features 49 daily multimedia resources. You’ll find information on Lent, reflections and Gospel readings, as well as videos on penance and almsgiving. While the calendar reflects the solemn season of Lent, it will also include some cultural traditions and celebrations, as well as some meatless recipe options for the Fridays of Lent. There also are some crafts you can do with the whole family. There also will be content from each of the three regions of the diocese — Finger Lakes, Southern Tier and Monroe County.
If you are trying to spend more time in prayer this Lenten season, I hope you will include the “Journey to Easter” calendar as part of your daily quiet time.
I hope it helps you as we prepare for Christ’s resurrection on Easter Sunday!
I wish you all a prayerful and reflective Lenten season.
