Our Lady of Mercy to hold voter drive

The Social Ministry Committee of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, 36 Armstrong Road, Greece, will hold a voter-registration drive after Masses on June 12 and 13.

A table with voter-registration forms will be set up in the narthex of the church on June 12 at 5:45 p.m., and on June 13 at 9:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

To register you must: be a U.S. citizen; be 18 years old by Dec. 31 of the year in which you file the form (you must be 18 years old by the date of the general, primary or other election in which you want to vote); not be in jail or on parole for a felony conviction; and not claim the right to vote elsewhere. If you have moved or changed your name since you last voted; if you are new to Monroe County or New York state; or if you are a first-time voter, this will be an opportunity for you to register or update your registration form.

Anyone who will be filling out a voter-registration form for the first time since January 2003 will need to provide their New York state driver’s license number or the last four digits of their Social Security number.

For information, call Our Lady of Mercy Parish at 585/865-0775, or call the Monroe County Board of Elections at 585/428-4550.
