A Marian shrine created by John Landino was blessed outside of his home in Wayland, Steuben County, Aug. 16. The Grotto of the Pieta was blessed by Father Stephen Karani, pastor of Holy Family Catholic Community, where Landino is a parishioner, and music was provided by Anna Pender, a classically trained soprano. Landino built the shrine over a six-year period, and it is open to the public.
