Owasco parish plans annual chicken barbecue

St. Ann Parish in Owasco will hold its annual chicken barbecue and bazaar July 25 at 11 a.m. on the church grounds, located at the junction of Route 38A and 12 Corners Road in Owasco.

The annual parish event began in the 1940s as a chicken and biscuit dinner at Camp Columbus on Owasco Lake and over the years evolved into its current form, which features both take-out and eat-in dinners. These dinners may be purchased for $8 and include a barbecued half-chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, rolls and dessert. The chicken portion only may be purchased for $5.

Hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks also will be available. The event is open to the public and also will feature a used book sale and games for children and adults.

For more information, contact the Sacred Heart/St. Ann parish office at 315-252-7271.
