St. Ann Parish in Owasco will hold its annual chicken barbecue and bazaar July 21 at 11 a.m. at the church, located on Route 38A.
The event began in the 1940s as a chicken and biscuit dinner at Camp Columbus on Owasco Lake and eventually evolved into its current format. The barbecue features both take-out and eat-in dinners, which include a barbecued half-chicken, salt potatoes and baked beans, as well as a roll and beverage. Dinners may be purchased for $8 apiece.
There will be hot dogs, hamburgers and popcorn available for children. The event also will include children’s activities and music from singer Sue Alexander and local band Soda Ash Six.
