Parish fits renewal bill

To the editor:

How fitting it was to read (staff writer Mike Latona’s) April story about Bishop Clark’s Spirit Alive program and have Father Alex Bradshaw a subject in it. As a parishioner of Mother of Sorrows, I’ve seen the Spirit within us come more alive since he became pastor in our church. He exudes the Holy Spirit in thought, word and deed.

Currently our third Ultimate Raffle is in progress to help defray the cost of past church renovations and for a new boiler. How appropriate to have the ultimate priest as part of it, along with his supporting cast, who work like busy beavers. As a wheelchair-bound person, the good priest got me involved as a lector and encouraged me to join the Men’s Club.

I thank God for our priests, deacons, Sister Leandra and all the members of our ministries. I must also include all others who help make our community what it is.

How can we fail to bring more souls back to the church, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit through the intercession of Our Lady? God has certainly poured out His love in our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom He has given us. We welcome all to our parish to experience the Spirit in a special way as we live and share the gospel message of Christ through the celebration of the sacraments. The success of anything in life starts with taking that first step forward.
