Penfield’s St. Joseph Church hosted a special Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Dec. 11. The Mass marked the anniversary of the appearance of the Virgin Mary to St. Juan Diego in present-day Mexico City in 1531. The Mass, which was celebrated by Father Robert Kreckel, featured children dressed as Mary and Juan Diego. Parishioners had the chance to lay flowers near an icon of Our Lady of Guadalupe and had religious articles related to Our Lady of Guadalupe blessed by Father Kreckel.
