Parishioner collects supplies for children

Anna Flanigan, a member of St. Ann’s Parish in Owasco, is collecting school supplies for needy children.

Flanigan is collecting 12-inch rulers, pencil sharpeners, blunt-point scissors, notebooks with between 150 and 200 sheets of ruled paper and crayons. She does not need pens or colored pencils. Flanigan will sort the collected supplies into kits, and these kits will later be delivered to needy children.

Flanigan first heard about the school-supply project several years ago through Church Women United of Cayuga County, which is associated with Church World Service.

Donated school supplies may be dropped off at the Sacred Heart/St. Ann’s Parish Office, 90 Melrose Road, Auburn, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 315/252-7271.
