Participants sought for Life Chain event

Parishes and individuals are invited to take part in Life Chain, a prayerful initiative for the end of abortion, that will be held Sunday, Oct. 1.

Participants are asked to hold signs and stand for one hour along major roadways, praying silently. Life Chain is an annual event held nationally each first Sunday of October. To find a nearby event, visit, or ask your parish if it is registered with Life Chain. If not, ask to register and/or hang a flyer so that parishioners can decide if they would like to participate.

A Life Chain demonstration will take place Oct. 1 in Elmira from 2 to 3 p.m. at the corner of West Church and Walnut streets. Further details on this effort may be obtained from Pat Beemer at 607/737-8060 or
