St. Michael School in Penn Yan is hoping to raise $1.25 million over the next five years through its new capital campaign, Secure Our Future.
The school is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, and hopes that a successful capital campaign will allow it to remain open and serve children in Yates County for 125 more years. The school is facing a serious financial challenge, according to a press release, and proceeds from the campaign will support the school’s operating budget and endowment fund.
The campaign was to be launched Oct. 21 with a social event for alumni who graduated from St. Michael between 1965-76. Another event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at Ravine’s Wine Cellar, 14630 Route 54 in Hammondsport. This event will be for alumni who graduated between 1921-64.
A third event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at Anthony Road Wine Co., 1020 Anthony Road in Penn Yan. This event will be for alumni who graduated between 1977-97.
Family and friends of alumni and interested community members are invited to attend the events.
