Pet blessing held at St. Agnes School

Students, parents and teachers gathered together to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi on Friday October 4th at St. Agnes School at the Annual Pet Blessing Ceremony.

A variety of pets were in attendance this year, including cats, dogs, guinea pigs, goldfish and a praying mantis!  Students whose pet couldn’t be present brought along stuffed animals or a picture of their pet to be blessed as well. Deacon Peter Dohr said a short prayer and then blessed each animal with holy water. In addition, students in Grade 5 and 6 organized a dress down day for a $1 donation and will donate over $110 to the Humane Society of Livingston County in Avon, NY to support their programs to help animals.
