Jann Armantrout, life-issues coordinator for the Diocese of Rochester, will give a presentation about stem-cell research at 7 p.m. Jan. 17 in the lower level of St. Francis Church, 12 Church St. in Phelps.
Armantrout will talk about the biology and applications of stem-cell research as well as the church’s position on stem-cell therapy. Ethical stem-cell research is the diocesan parish-based advocacy goal this year, so Armantrout will also talk about public-policy issues.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the St. Felix/St. Francis Parish Cluster at 315/462-2961.
