To the editor:
After speaking with several pro-life advocates from various groups, as a result of my letter to the Courier on the subject, I am beginning to understand why the fight against abortion has made so little progress in 37 years.
This battle has been fought primarily on secular grounds, which negates the power of the Creator of all life and his Blessed Mother.
Most pro-life advocates I spoke with pooh-poohed the idea of saying rosaries, and instead put their energy into the political realm. They ignore the fact that this is a spiritual warfare against the devil — yes, there is a devil — and his legions from hell — yes, there is a hell.
Nothing makes the devil happier than for us to think he doesn’t exist so he can carry out his plans of death and destruction. He loves it when Catholics are afraid to publicly display their religion and forego the one weapon he is most afraid of — the Rosary.
Our Lady of Fatima has assured us her "Immaculate Heart will Triumph" if only we would heed her advice and pray the Rosary. This would send a clear message to her arch-enemy that the day is coming soon when she will crush his head with her heel.
We must use the weapon she handed us from Heaven if we ever hope to end abortions.
