To the editor:
I am writing this letter in response to a letter to the editor where Paul Haney states”abortion is wrong, but he supports the right of a woman to choose abortion.”
Where are the saints and martyrs today that we are to emulate?
Some in the church show the courage to call “pro-choice” or “choosing to murder an unborn child” a mortal sin. It is a commandment of God, “Thou shalt not kill.” Many sin and God’s forgiveness is always waiting.
This indefensible sin takes precedence over the death penalty, the so called unjust war, or feeding the poor. What if the baby to be aborted could have been your mother. Would you still be pro-abortion?
Why doesn’t the Catholic church preach from every pulpit and written word that abortion is a sin? Then let God’s grace work in all hearts.
Are looming elections keeping the voices of these defenseless babies quiet?
“Speak the truth in season and out” says St. Paul.
