Public support is requested for a new baby-quilt ministry in Elmira.
The “Loving Hearts” program, which operates in conjunction with the Southern Tier Pregnancy Resource Center, was recently begun by Judy Keough, a parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul. She asks for anybody with knitting, crocheting or sewing skills to help produce 15 to 20 baby quilts (recommended size of 35 by 45 inches) per month. Donations of thread, material, yarn and fiber filling are sought as well.
Keough noted that baby clothes, toys and other items are also needed by the pregnancy resource center, which is located in Suite 201 of the Medical Arts Building on the St. Joseph’s Hospital campus.
Those interested in assisting may call the resource center at 607/732-2111.
