Father Kevin McKenna, rector of Rochester’s Sacred Heart Cathedral, has released a third edition of his book A Concise Guide to Catholic Social Teaching.

This revised edition incorporates the teachings of Pope Francis in his documents Evangelii Gaudium, Laudato Si’ and Amoris Laetitia to offer a clear, beginner-level reference tool and study guide on such pertinent present-day topics as religious freedom, abortion, immigrant rights, racism, capital punishment and health care.

Father McKenna’s book builds on the core themes of human dignity, community, rights and responsibilities, option for the poor, dignity of work, solidarity and care of creation.

The 192-page book is available through Ave Maria Press.
