Priest’s challenge to Biden voters is most effective approach

To the editor:

I really appreciated Father Jim Hewes’ March letter to the editor. As opposed to castigating those of us who voted for President Biden, Father encouraged us to make use of our voices in the democratic process to make changes as we see fit.

Every issue that we deal with, be it climate change, foreign policy, abortion, immigration or racial injustice is fluid, changing constantly as a response to the will of the people. Anyone would be hard pressed to find a person with exactly the same views on everything as oneself. Father’s approach seems to be the most effective to bring about change in any area.

I do wonder about the last paragraph starting with “As his supporter.” Does that refer to Father or to me? Either way is fine but I was unclear. Perhaps that was intentional and well played.
