Work was recently completed on expansion of the Southport Primary Care Facility in Elmira.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place June 30 at the facility, located at 859 Broadway. The event was attended by representatives from the Town of Southport, Southport Internal Medicine and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
The $400,000 expansion was begun last October, with Klugo Construction Inc. of Elmira overseeing work that included demolition of the previous structure and a new 4,600-foot building constructed next to that spot.
Since 1998, St. Joseph’s Hospital has operated Southport Primary Care Facility, which is led by Dr. Robert Mauri. The expanded facility allows for a greater volume of health-care practitioners and examination rooms.
