After losing a bet that his students could not collect 500 cans for their annual food drive, David Paddock, principal of St. Michael School in Penn Yan, sang “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” to the children and then spent the day on the school’s roof Dec. 18. With temperatures in the 20s, Paddock had to bundle up, but still got some paperwork done and sent messages with his Blackberry.
