To the editor:
There is a huge threat to our freedom of speech that I feel compelled to talk about. There are dangerous steps being taken to close off the Internet by corporations like Google and Verizon. If this happens they will be able to control the websites that load quickly and charge for their use. Everyone else will be stuck on a slower line.
The FCC should take steps to stop this dangerous trend. Chairman Julius Genachowski who was appointed by President Obama has the power to undo an egregious decision by the Bush administration to classify the Internet as communications service under the current law.
