To the editor:
I am offering two positive suggestions for our diocese.
First, I ask that you publish in the Courier, before all elections, the voting records of all politicians up for election, especially their stands on abortion, parental consent for underage abortions and gay marriage. This information is not readily available in the secular media. You did give us the website www.nyscatholic.com in the Courier; however, many readers don’t have access to a computer or don’t know how to use one. It is very important that we are informed well, so we can vote with wisdom.
Secondly, I think we need to offer more support and firm leadership to men in the area of internet pornography. Experts call it a growing addiction in this country and elsewhere. We need to establish support groups, to talk about this issue from the pulpit, and to offer every support we can think of to our men. We must not bury our heads in the sand and pretend this is not a real problem for many otherwise-strong Catholic and Christian disciples.
