A graduating class of 10 was honored at the St. James Mercy School of Radiologic Science commencement on June 25. The ceremony was held at the Italian Villa in Hornell.
Earning special awards were Tim Clark, who won the Joe Vetter Memorial Award and the Sister Colette Frank and the Sister Margaret Ann Lawson Memorial Scholarship from Olean General Hospital in Olean; Katie Jessup, Jessica Black and Mary Lackey, who earned the Sister Frank and Sister Lawson scholarship from St. James Mercy Hospital; Kelly Richmond, who won the Academic Award sponsored by the St. James Mercy Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, the Sister Frank and Sister Lawson scholarship from Jones Memorial in Wellsville, and the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology’s Award of Excellence; and Lori Wood, who earned the Sister Frank and Sister Lawson scholarship from Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
Completing this year’s graduating class were Kathleen Greenman, Tabetha Rose, Danielle Iantorno and Heather Brown.
In addition, Mary Elizabeth Lewis, a member of the junior class, received the Women’s Auxiliary Academic Excellence Award, which is presented to a first-year student in radiology education.
Dr. Susan Rainwater, St. James Mercy’s senior vice president of medical staff services, congratulated the graduates and presented diplomas with Lynne Freeland, program director. Dr. Andrew Rabin, of Lakes Radiology Inc., gave congratulatory remarks.
