Tickets are on sale for two raffles that will take place in upcoming weeks.
The annual Discover 2010 raffle in Elmira will benefit several Catholic schools in the Southern Tier. Each ticket costs $100. Tickets are available at schools, churches and parish offices or by calling 607-732-5432. The grand prize drawing will occur Nov. 16, with a grand prize of $25,000 from a total pool of $60,000.
Schuyler Catholic Community is holding its annual benefit car raffle, with the chance to win a 2010 Ford Escape or $20,000 in cash. Tickets cost $40 each or three for $100. The drawing will take place Sunday, Dec. 26, after the 10 a.m. Mass at St. Mary of the Lake Church in Watkins Glen. You must be at least 18 years old to enter. For details, call 607-535-2786.
