Dan Schutte, one of the nation’s most prolific contemporary writers of Christian hymns, will offer an evening of music and reflection on Friday, Oct. 23, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 W. Main St. in Endicott, Broome County. The concert will begin at 7 p.m.
Schutte is the composer of such popular contemporary church hymns as "City of God," "Though the Mountains May Fall," "Sing a New Song," "Glory and Praise to Our God" and "Here I Am, Lord." He is one of the St. Louis Jesuits, a renowned group of Catholic musicians that spawned numerous contemporary worship classics in the 1970s and 1980s.
Schutte’s appearance in Endicott is open to the general public. He also will offer a workshop for those involved in liturgical ministries on Oct. 24 at Our Lady of Good Counsel from 9 a.m. to noon.
