Respect for life requires us to be ‘mother’ to immigrants

To the editor:

As we all are from conception to natural death made in the inage and likeness of God Almighty we should defend life. As we know about abortion, the pill, contraceptives, stem cell research, invitro and other evils, we must also respect the immigrants, for the Roman Catholic Church calls us to Holiness and the Eucharist. The word Eucharist means “thanksgiving;” we must share our water, food and clothing with the poor. We have an over abundance of wealth in this country. Not too long ago a three year old boy immigrant washed up on a beach in Turkey.

As we were appalled at 9/11, we should be appalled for the sex trafficing that is going on. We should also screen and do DNA testing to see if some of these children are coming over (the border) for the sex trade or are really these people’s children. Our world is not cozy that is why I suggest the Mass, confession, the Bible and the rosary. As Mary appeared in Mexico as our Lady of Guadalupe, she revealed herself as our mother. Let us mother these immigrants as our children of the Next America or the America of the Eucharist and of Jesus and Mary.
