Resurrection Set

Here are the directions to make your own resurrection set:

Materials:

10 cardboard tissue tubes (or about 4 paper towel tubes, or like 1 wrapping paper tube)
1 empty square tissue box
Glue (or stapler)
Crayons, markers or colored pencils
Resurrection set printables (Page 1) (Page 2) (Page 3) (Page 4) (Page 5) (Page 6) (Page 7)
Scissors
Brad (optional)
Tape

Instructions

1. Print the printables pages (there are seven pages–links are above). You should have a Risen Jesus, St. Mary Magdalene, Mary the Mother of John,
St. Peter, 2 angels, a tomb with a rock, linen clothes, 2 Roman soldiers, a cross and crucified Jesus.

2. Color the images on the pages

3. Cut the images on the pages (cut along the outside lines)

4.Two angels & Risen Jesus: Paste them at the top of the tissue paper roll. If you want something to stick out from the sides (like the angels’ wings or the Risen Jesus’s hands) you can cut them out around the edges and let them flap free from the sides of the tubes. (Like picture shown below).

5. Cross page: Cut out square around the cross as well as the two dotted lines underneath the sides of the cross. Glue cross onto tissue paper roll. Cut out crucified Jesus on the same page as the cross. On Good Friday at noon, tape Jesus onto the cross on Good Friday(Don’t glue!). Then at 3:00 p.m., take Him down, place His body in the tomb, and close the stone. On Easter morning, replace Jesus’ body with the empty linen cloths.

6. Tomb and Rock: Cut out the tomb, including cutting out the hole in the middle of the tomb. Glue the tomb to the top of the square tissue box, placing the tomb hole over the hole in tissue box. Then turn over the tomb on its side. Cut out the rock. Using a brad (which you can find in the scrapbooking section of a craft store), attach the rock to the tomb so it can swing open and closed. Note: We used a medium-sized paper clip instead of a brad and attached the rock to the tomb from the bottom using the paper clip. That is another option.

7.  Roman Solders & St. Mary Magdalene, Mary the Mother of John, St. Peter: Cut out the images(cut along the outside lines) and glue to the paper roll.

8. When all the pieces are together, your finished product should look something like this:
