The Haiti Team of St. Louis Parish in Pittsford is once again selling its popular Gifts of Love ornaments to benefit St. Damien Pediatric Hospital in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.
The ceramic ornaments come in various designs and were handmade at Holy Childhood, which serves children and adults with developmental disabilities.
In previous years, the ornaments on sale had been wrapped ahead of time and were ready to be given as gifts. Due to concerns about COVID-19 this year, the ornaments have not been gift-wrapped ahead of time. Each individual ornament is, however, packaged in a clear plastic bag along with a card explaining that the purchase of the ornaments benefits St. Damien’s, which is the only children’s hospital in Haiti that treats cancer and is free to the indigent. The card also includes space for the gift-giver to write the name of the ornament’s recipient.
Ornaments may be purchased for a $5 donation and are available on the front porch of the St. Louis Ministry Center, 64 Main St. in Pittsford. They also may be purchased at several local retailers. A full listing of these retailers, as well as photos of the different ornaments available, may be found on St. Louis’ website.
The Haiti Team also is selling SaveAround coupon books, which may be purchased for $25 at the St. Louis Ministry Center. For more information, contact Marcia Mendola at 585-381-6872.
