Rochester’s St. John Neumann School has changed its name to St. Ambrose Academy, effective July 1, said Patty Macera, director of finance and administration for Peace of Christ Parish, which operates the school.
To celebrate the name change and raise scholarship funds, St. Ambrose Academy will host a gala Sept. 7 in Dailey Hall at the school. The goal is to raise $50,000 for scholarships, according to information on the school’s new website at stambrose.academy.
St. John Neumann School was formed from a merger of the former St. Ambrose and St. John the Evangelist schools, and opened in the St. Ambrose building on Empire Boulevard at the beginning of the 2005-06 school year.
