Cameron Community Ministries, an ecumenical urban community center in Rochester’s Lyell-Otis neighborhood, has several volunteer opportunities available.
The organization is collecting school supplies for the children in its after-school program and for School No. 30 in Rochester, which many of its children attend. School supplies and gift cards for teachers to purchase needed supplies will be gratefully accepted. Supplies will be received from Aug. 27 to Sept. 6. Contact the organization for a list of items needed.
The organization also needs a volunteer truck driver with a covered truck to pick up its weekly Foodlink order, and a need for churches and groups to provide a meal and a brief worship service as part of its Sunday Celebration Supper. Several Sundays are available.
