School Sister of Notre Dame Bernadine (Norbert) Gutacker died Dec. 27, 2022. She was 93 years old.
Born in Rochester, Sister Gutacker professed her vows as a School Sister of Notre Dame in 1949. She taught in schools in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico and Chile. She also served as a pastoral minister in parishes in Rochester and Hartford, Conn. Later, Sister Gutacker participated in volunteer ministry at Caroline House and Merton House in Bridgeport, Conn.
In her retirement, Sister Gutacker resided at Villa Notre Dame in Wilton, Conn.
Sister Gutacker’s funeral was celebrated at St. Andrew Church in Bridgeport, Conn., Jan. 9, 2023.
