Registration has begun for the ninth annual Run for the Young. The 5-kilometer (3.1 mile) road race will take place Saturday, May 14, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence School, 1000 North Greece Road, Greece, Monroe County.
The competition is open to the general public; people of all ages and running ability are welcomed. As an alternative, a one-mile “fun run” is also offered.
Prizes will be awarded in numerous age groups, as well as special awards for parishes with the highest participation and the most money raised.
Funds raised go toward scholarship funds at the parish and diocesan levels, so that more youths can attend special diocesan events throughout the year.
