Sandra M. DiPasquale, who was a teacher for 40 years at St. Agnes School in Avon until her retirement in 2017, died March 27, 2022. She was 70 years old.
Miss DiPasquale was born Nov. 20, 1951, and was a lifelong resident of Avon. She attended St. Agnes School in Avon and St. Agnes High School in Rochester. She then attended SUNY Canton and SUNY Geneseo and graduated with her degree in teaching in 1973. Following graduation, she started her teaching career at St. Agnes School, where she was affectionally known as “Miss D.” While she taught several different grade levels throughout her 40-year career at St. Agnes, she spent many of those years teaching fourth grade.
Along with teaching, Miss DiPasquale had a passion for music. As a young adult, she began performing with her sister, Sharon, and other friends in a traveling performing group called Stage 3 Productions. Throughout her life, she sang in the St. Agnes Church choir and folk group and spent many years as the director of the folk group. Later in life, she sang with the group Take Note, which performed at area events, nursing homes and senior centers. She also shared her love of music with St. Agnes School students by producing and directing many musical performances and pageants.
Miss DiPasquale is survived by her mother, Frances DiPasquale; sister, Sharon (Tom) Ely; brother, Sam (Colleen) DiPasquale; nephew, Dylan (Amanda) DiPasquale; niece, Jenna DiPasquale (James Appleton); great-nephew Dominic DiPasquale; and aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
Her funeral Mass was March 31, 2022, at St. Agnes Church in Avon, with interment at St. Agnes Cemetery.
