Says church can’t OK same-sex marriage

To the editor:

Now that the gay marriage is a fact in New York State, the moral implications are not good.

Sexual orientation is a topic that seems to receive more attention as time goes by. However, it is hard to understand why persons with same sex attraction need to announce their orientation and expect a thumbs up.

Since our church’s main purpose is saving souls, it can not sanction same sex activity. While there are those who consider church condemnation of gay sex as hate speech, they do not understand that a human soul needs to be saved.

Unfortunately our Governor violates church teaching by cohabitating, leading the charge for gay marriage and supporting abortion. Now is the time for our church to bring out the rulers and tap the knuckles of those Catholics who do not follow church teaching.
