The Auburn Catholic Community is sponsoring “Praying the Rosary,” an adult-education opportunity that will take place at 7 p.m. May 9 at the Holy Family Parish Center, 85 North St., Auburn.
The event is part of St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry’s Schola program. Through this program, St. Bernard’s sends instructors to parishes and other groups who want to provide adult-education opportunities about the basics of Catholicism. Schola sessions are aimed at adult learners of all backgrounds, including those who have recently completed the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults or are in sacramental preparation.
At the May 9 presentation, participants will learn about the 20 mysteries of the rosary and how to pray the rosary meaningfully. They’ll also look at the nature of the rosary as a mantra and why the rosary is such an important devotion. The event is open to the public and free, although a goodwill offering will be accepted.
The next Schola session, “What’s So Great About Being Catholic?” will take place at 7 p.m. June 2 at the Sacred Heart Parish Center, 90 Melrose Road, Auburn.
