Benedictine Father Cyprian Davis will present a talk on the history of black Catholics in the United States from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the Forum at the Otto A. Shults Community Center of Nazareth College, 4245 East Ave., Pittsford.
Father Davis is the author of the 1990 book The History of Black Catholics in the United States, which won the John Gilmary Shea Award in 1991. He has taught church history at various locations in West Africa, and he is a longtime scholar and monk of St. Meinrad Archabbey in Indiana. His talk is free and open to the public.
