Scholarship honors longtime educator

The Thomas More Project recently established a scholarship in honor Sister M. Trinita DiGiacomo, SSND.

The scholarship recognizes Sister DiGiacomo’s half-century of work in Catholic education and provides tuition assistance to underprivileged children who might not otherwise be able to attend a Catholic elementary school. The scholarship will also be used to develop programs to reach children at educational risk.

A native of Rochester, Sister DiGiacomo attended Holy Redeemer School in Rochester and graduated from Brighton’s Our Lady of Mercy High School in 1947. She then earned a master’s degree from the University of Rochester and has since devoted her life to education.
