Schools successfully combine faith, academic excellence

We hope that you are enjoying the special coverage of Catholic schools in this month’s Catholic Courier. This week, Catholic schools throughout our diocese are celebrating Catholic Schools Week. The week is filled with events in which teachers, parents, staff and especially our students express their pride in being part of a school system that continues to successfully combine faith, values and academic excellence.

It is the perfect time to say thank you to all those who help make our schools such special places. From our wonderful and dedicated administrators, teachers and staff to those parents who no doubt make sacrifices to give their children the gift of a Catholic education. We could not do what we do without you!

If experience has taught us anything about Catholic schools over all these years, it is that their reputation for academic excellence is well-deserved. One only has to look at our communities, businesses and institutions throughout the diocese to see that Catholic-school graduates have ascended to leadership positions in government, education, law, medicine, the arts and other professions. Your child is not only benefiting from an above-average academic education that will lead to career success, but also is gaining the spiritual and moral guidance needed to be successful in life.

Our congratulations to those parents and guardians who have chosen Catholic schools for their children. You have made a sound investment in their future that will serve these young people throughout their lifetime and will make a difference in our world as well.

If your children are not already enrolled, please consider giving them the gift of a Catholic-school education. We are confident that you will be pleased with the results!

May God continue to bless you and your families.
