Seasonal music planned

Music by Bach, Rutter, Praetorius and Handel and seasonal hymns are on the program for A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols featuring the Chorus Novus, directed by Terrance Keach, at 3 p.m. Dec. 10 at St. Anne Church, 1600 Mt. Hope Ave., Rochester. A brass prelude will begin at 2:45 p.m.

Readers will include former Rochester mayor William Johnson, Richard Gladwell of WXXI’s With Heart and Voice, and parishioners of St. Anne Church.

Chorus Novus is a Rochester-based choral group that sings a wide range of chant and liturgical music from the Catholic tradition. The group was formed in 2002 by members of the former Sacred Heart Cathedral choir in Rochester. The chorus is in residence at St. Anne Church, and many of its members sing in the church’s adult choir.

Admission is free, and a free-will offering will be taken.
