Sister Grace Miller of the House of Mercy was honored with a special Mass and barbecue in celebration of her 80th birthday on July 12. More than a birthday party, the gathering in Seneca Park recognized Sister Miller as a Sister of Mercy for the past 60 years, as well as to honor the 30 years since she opened the House of Mercy homeless shelter. Participants hope to raise $80,000 to benefit the opening of a new and larger shelter in the city’s downtown area.
