Sister Konsick; taught at several schools

Sister Margaret Louise Konsick, SSJ, who taught for nearly 40 years in diocesan Catholic schools, died March 21, 2006, at the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse. She was 89 years old.

Sister Konsick entered her order in 1931 from Immaculate Conception Parish in Ithaca. She received her bachelor’s degree from Nazareth College in 1947.

She taught at St. Lucy and St. Ambrose, Rochester; St. Michael, Penn Yan; St. John the Evangelist, Greece; St. Joseph, Wayland; and Blessed Sacrament, Rochester. In 1971 she became library assistant at Nazareth Academy, where she remained for seven years. She then moved to the SSJ motherhouse, where she worked on projects for Cornerstone Crafts.

Sister Konsick is survived by her nephew, Richard Hickey; many friends; and her sisters in the congregation.

Her funeral Mass took place March 27, 2006, in the motherhouse chapel. Interment was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
