Sister M. Cordis Impler, SSND, at 104

Sister M. Cordis Impler of the School Sisters of Notre Dame died on May 29, 2003, at the Lourdes Health Center in Wilton, Conn. She was 104.
 

Born in Schliersee, Bavaria, Germany, Sister Impler was an elementary school teacher for 48 years. She taught at St. Michael’s and Our Lady of Good Counsel, both in Baltimore, Md., as well as at St. Michael’s and St. Margaret Mary, both in Rochester. She retired to the motherhouse in Wilton in 1985.
 

Sister Impler is survived by her nephew, Herman Impler; her niece, Gertrude Pomper; her close friend, Sister Stephania Walczak, SSND, who teaches at Rochester’s Bishop Kearney High School; and the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
 

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 2 in the Provincial Motherhouse Chapel in Wilton with interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bethel, Conn. Memorial contributions may be sent to the SSND Development Fund, Wilton, CT 06897.
