Sister M. Joseph Sheheen of the School Sisters of Notre Dame died at the age of 92 at the Lourdes Health Center in Wilton, Conn., on March 26, 2004.
A native of Buffalo, she taught for more than 60 years, including assignments in Rochester at Holy Ghost, Holy Family and Ss. Peter and Paul schools.
Sister Sheheen is survived by her sister, Mrs. Martha Evans of West Amherst; her brother, Kal (Marie) Sheheen of Kenmore; sister-in-law, Mae Orie of Tonawanda; nieces and nephews; and her sisters in the congregation. Her funeral liturgy was celebrated in the motherhouse chapel in Wilton on March 29 with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bethel, Conn.
